Women at Work – It Could Work Better

According to the Women @ Work 2025 Report from Deloitte, there is a significant “disconnect between corporate inclusion goals and women’s lived experiences.” According to the report, women make up half of the global workforce, but only 35% have managerial positions, and only 5% plan to stay with their current employer for more than five years. The conflict between return-to-work mandates and costs of caregiving are creating much difficulty: approximately 25 percent of women have reduced hours or income; and 34 percent report “non-inclusive” behavior (not defined) at work. “The fix” according to Deloitte, consists of five “levers” to be fixed/reinforced: progression, flexibility, safety, women’s health support, and workload balance.
