New Scrutiny for H-1B Applicants
Starting December 15, the State Department began reviewing the “online presence” of applicants for H-1B visas. Applicants are required to set their social media accounts to “public.” This is part of the dramatic overall tightening of immigration criteria for all individuals seeking to enter the US on other than a tourist visa. Similarly, the EEOC is cracking down on anti-American bias in hiring, such as job listings for H-1B visas “only” or “preferred.”
