Not Exactly HR, but Worth a Warning if You Use Microsoft Teams

Researchers at “Check Point Research” have found that Microsoft Teams has ‘critical flaws” than can enable hackers to “manipulate messages, spoof notifications and even impersonate executives.” According to the article, four types of attacks can be mounted against Teams:

  • Attackers could edit Teams messages without leaving the “edited” label behind in the message.

  • Message notifications could be manipulated so that they appeared to be from another sender.

  • Attackers could change the display name inside private chats.

  • Caller identities could be altered in video and audio calls.

Other Teams vulnerabilities were uncovered last year and resolved during the ensuing year.
