Not So Transparent

Speaking of AI, Amazon has announced that it is planning to cut 14,000 “roles,” joining other tech companies in that kind of move, such as DuoLingo, Intel, and Meta (from its AI development section, among others). One relevant opinion is that short-term gains may be made, but longer-term growth may be handicapped because many of the positions being eliminated are those that would be occupied by new hires who would later advance within the organization, potentially jeopardizing future growth.
