The Importance of Correctly Managing Change
Statistically, about 63% of US employees have experienced workplace change during 2025, but 34% say the changes were not worth the “organizational effort”.
The problem as perceived by employees has been that changes have not been effectively managed. Inclusion of and communication with employees is the most frequently cited shortcoming, especially when the scope of the change is large. In such cases, employees are reported as saying they cannot “absorb all the shifts” in operations that are expected of them.
A report from The Conference Board indicated that “gaps in measurement, communication and alignment” hampered the effectiveness of changes. Conversely, “intentional, inclusive strategies can dramatically improve the odds of successful change adoption.” Consistent support and open communication are keys to successful organizational changes.
