EEOC Reminders and Notices
With the advent of the new Administration, EEOC is now reminding employers that they are to use merit-based hiring and promotion practices, using job-related, skills-and-ability-based criteria (the “KSAs”) for hiring, and those plus performance-based criteria for promotions. Protected group status and other non-job-related factors are not to be considered. Tests must be validated before they are used, as always.
Effective 9/30/25, the maximum penalty for failure to post required federal employment notices was increased from $680 to $698 per infraction.
