Gender Equality Growing in Importance Globally

According to a new UN report, the need for flexible work arrangements for women is “non-negotiable” to enable them to reach equality in the workplace. A UN study indicates that “women do three times more unpaid care and domestic work than men, averaging 4.2 hours per day, as compared to 1.7 hours for men.” A study of women in the workforce indicated that their concerns included lack of flexibility (45%) and poor work-life balance (40%). Roughly those same percentages wanted women’s employers to “go further” and to offer more pay transparency.
