Renewed DOL Self-Reporting Program
DOL is encouraging employers to self-report possible wage and hour violations, including FMLA and FLSA errors, through their Payroll Audit Independent Determination (PAID) program. This is an expansion of the original PAID program. Using it gives employees access to back wages and other remedies in an expedited manner that avoids litigation and enforcement. This benefits both the employees by expediting recovery, and the employers by avoiding potential legal fees, etc. This is a “revival” and improvement of the original PAID program which was implemented in the first Trump Administration.
