AI-Spammed Recruiting – A Possible Fix?
HR and Recruiting departments are experiencing a deluge of resumes fed by AI spamming programs – an increase of 45% over last year.
Much of this volume is created by AI spam bots, which can send around 50 resumes per day at a cost of $13/week. The potential fix is an “application fee”: a charge of $10-$15 per attempt to apply which will “weed out” meaningless applications and thus improve the incoming quality.
Companies could also increase quality volume by emphasizing (and rewarding) employee referrals, a win-win. Adding a human verification element (e.g., reCAPTCHA) could also be a viable remedy
