Some Employers Are Eliminating Degree Requirements

According to online sources, 1 in 4 employers plan to eliminate bachelor’s degree requirements this year. More than that number place more weight on experience than on bachelor’s degrees for that level of position. Employers doing so are finding that they are broadening their candidate pools and actually lowering their beginning offer levels. Ironically, Gen Z applicants are saying that AI has led to their degrees being irrelevant, and hiring managers are placing more stress on experience than on education for Gen Z hires.
