Employment Outlook in Brief

According to a survey quoted by ADP, two-thirds of personnel in the hiring function said the hiring outlook for 2026 is improving somewhat, but the primary obstacles are employee skill levels and Artificial Intelligence. However, more than a third of those respondents said they have positions they cannot fill because of a lack of applicants with the necessary skills. Conversely, the advent of AI is reducing the availability of entry-level and back-office positions.
