Another Data Breach

On April 22, 2024, DISA Global Solutions, Inc., which is a third-party employment screening provider, discovered that it had been hacked. Consequently, records from February 9, 2024. to April 22, 2024 for approximately 3.3 million people were exposed. According to DISA, “the personal information accessed could have included people’s names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, other government ID numbers, financial account information and other data elements.” Although it is not apparent that people’s data have been misused, the company is providing a year of credit monitoring for potential victims. Other major breaches reported have included Paychex in July, 2024, and UKG in 2021.
